The Documents division examines writings, signatures, erasures,
alterations, obliterations, charred documents for deciphering the content, reconstruction of
torn documents, indented writing, physical matching, writings on immovable surfaces, comparison of
printed matter, seal impressions, typewritten matter with the type writer etc. involved in crimes
such as forgery, cheating, criminal breach of trust, falsification of passports, security documents,
criminal conspiracy, misappropriation, bribery, , anonymous and obscene matter, rape cases, dowry death cases, trade mark violation cases, civil disputes, departmental enquiries etc. Both civil and criminal cases referred from Hon’ble Madras High Court, family and other courts, other departments in Tamilnadu Govt., other organizations in Tamilnadu, and from other states referred by competent authority in Tamilnadu are accepted. Licenses of Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise are also examined.
